50/50 Club

Ever heard of the Pennine Calder District 50/50 Club and wondered what it is ....?

The 50/50 club works like a lottery. Lots of people agree to pay £2 a month. Each month there is a draw and three lucky winners win prizes totalling 50% of the prize fund that was collected that month. The remaining 50% of the fund is used to help Scouts in Pennine Calder who are successfully selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree to fund their expedition.

The WSJ for 2023 will be held in Korea and each participant needs to raise £4000 in order to attend. Fundraising and Support to young people attending the Jamboree is a key factor as the ethos of our organisation is that Scouting is open to everyone regardless of financial situation.

So if all the participants fund raise and if they are supported by their District and their Group then everybody is on a level playing field, this means that young people who dream of attending this amazing event know it really can happen......

I am sure you agree this is a fantastic cause to support which also gives you the chance to win some prize money too.
